Absolutely. Wowzing acts as a secure bridge between you and your card recipients. We never reveal your personal contact details (like your phone number or email address) to the member or the card recipient. You remain in full control and decide when it is safe to share your personal contact details.

We also protect you from anyone scanning your card who isn't your intended recipient: Wowzing asks card recipients two security questions — what day they received your card, and the exact place it was handed over — and requires them to upload a recent photo for their avatar. You can review the security information and photo before you decide to communicate with your card recipient. If the security information is incorrect, you can delete or block the recipient.

You don't have to guess! Your member dashboard lets you track exactly when your Wowzing cards are scanned, so you know when someone is viewing your profile, even if they haven't sent you a message. A recipient may scan your card several times, which is reflected in your scan count.

You are in complete control. You decide whether you want to reply to a message from a card recipient, and you can block anyone you no longer wish to communicate with.

Hand cards out in safe environments: Stick to public, well-lit, and populated spaces—like bars, social events, or coffee shops—when deciding to approach someone.

Keep the approach low-pressure: Handing out your Wowzing card should be a fun, polite icebreaker. Always respect the other person's space. If they decline the card or seem uninterested, accept it gracefully and move on.

Verify your recipients: Before someone can message you, they must answer two security questions: where and when they received your Wowzing card. You will see both answers, helping you confirm they are exactly who you gave the card to. If the information is not correct, feel free to ask the person further questions about how you met, or block them.

Keep track of your cards: Be mindful of how many cards you hand out. For example, if you gave out two cards and are already chatting with two people, a sudden message from a third person is an immediate red flag. If their answers to the security questions seem off, the card might have been lost or stolen, and you can always ask them to clarify how they got your card. If the situation still doesn't add up, trust your instincts and use your block controls.

Protect your digital privacy: Even though you've crossed paths in real life, let Wowzing act as your secure bridge. Keep your initial conversations on the platform until you've built mutual trust, and avoid sharing highly personal information like your home address or financial details.

Treat the first proper meet-up with care: A brief introduction to hand off a card isn't the same as meeting up properly. When you arrange to meet, stick to standard safety rules: meet in a public place, arrange your own transport, and tell a friend where you are going. Never leave your food or drinks unattended.

Use your block controls: You are in complete control of your inbox. If a card recipient messages you and the conversation makes you feel uncomfortable or crosses a line, use the block function immediately.

Financial requests: Never send money, crypto or bank details to someone you are messaging online.

Report anything that crosses a line: Everything shared on Wowzing is checked against our moderation rules before it is published, and every report is reviewed by a person. If someone behaves abusively or makes you feel unsafe, block them and email [email protected].
